I've been receiving some positive feedback from the Mentees regarding the assignment,
and it seems like you are all making great progress! Just a quick reminder that
the half page presentation summaries and powerpoint presentations are due soon.
The half page summary is due the week ending the 4th of April.
This summary should cover the main aspects of the presentation and is intended
to serve as a synopsis for the judges of the content covered in your presentations.
The powerpoint presentation is due on or before the 14th of April.
Each presentation from the mentor/mentee pairs should run no more than 5 minutes.
An agenda for the evening, including presentation times, will be available closer

INTRODUCTION
Victoria's Power Industry is facing a widespread skills shortage. The effects of an aging workforce, combined with declining interest in Power Engineering amongst university graduates, has created a parlous situation.
In response to the impending skills shortage, the IET (and in particular the Young Members Committee) has adopted a proactive position. To support the development of the Power Industry's future talent-base, the Young Members Committee has devised a professional mentoring strategy entitled Power Career In Focus (PCIF).
In essence, the program seeks to link penultimate year tertiary students with young industry professionals in an expertly designed and managed mentoring framework.

In doing so, the program will assist in 'rebranding' Power Engineering as a dynamic and modern career option. Further, the program will identify and enlist talent prospects who may otherwise be lost to the profession.
