IET Australia is a forum consisting of representatives of the IET
Branches within the geographical area of Australia. The names of the
founding Branches and the areas they serve are:
IET New South Wales - New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory
IET Queensland - Queensland, Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands
IET Victoria - Victoria
IET Tasmania - Tasmania
IET South Australia and Northern Territory - South Australia and Northern Territory
IET Western Australia - Western Australia and Cocos Island

The prime aims and objectives of IET Australia are to:

  • Further the objectives of the IET,
  • Assist the Branches to meet the professional interests of members,
    increase membership and enhance the profile of the IET,
  • Co-ordinate the inter-Branch activities of the Institution within
    Australia and plan and undertake those activities which are best carried
    out at a national level,
  • Liaise with IET NZ on joint initiatives, including prestige prizes,
    international lecture tours and other similar activities.
